Whether you’re exploring a new hobby or developing creative skills, this class offers a welcoming environment to learn the fundamentals of metalworking and jewelry design. Students will be introduced to essential techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering, forming and finishing while working primarily with non-ferrous metals like copper and brass.
Through a series of guided projects, you’ll gain confidence using traditional jeweler’s tools and torches and leave with your own handcrafted pieces—such as rings, pendants or earrings. The course also covers shop safety, basic design principles and the creative possibilities within metalwork.
No prior experience is necessary! Please note that you will need to purchase a required tool kit for the class at an estimated cost of $150. Information will be provided at the time of registration.
