Training Development is an 8 hour activity-based course to teach skills related to training development.  Developing training for classroom instruction and job training plans requires skills beyond the basics of “train the trainer”.  Classroom training requires engaging multiple learners which is a different challenge than one on one training.  Classroom training topics include: identifying the audience, generating ideas for activities, creating effective slide presentations, LEARN engagement model, and how to collaborate with the audience.  All training requires thoughtful planning.  Planning topics include: understanding Bloom’s taxonomy, breaking training into appropriate segments, formative training evaluation and summative training evaluation.
As a result of this workshop participants should be able to:
  • Create presentation plans by identifying the audience and ideas to share with the audience
  • Prepare classroom activities
  • Develop engaging presentation slides
  • Illustrate the LEARN engagement model (Light/Lively, Experience Based, Active Participation, Relevant content, Numerous methods)
  • Demonstrate a presentation utilizing the course concepts
  • Grade learning objectives per Bloom’s Taxonomy
  • Discuss the appropriate segments of training
  • Explain tools that can be used to conduct formative training evaluation
  • Prepare tools that can be used to conduct summative training evaluation
