Firearm Safety Summer Camp (Grades 5-12)

Take the mystery out of firearms and develop lifelong safety skills in this comprehensive, safety-first camp. Led by NRA-certified instructor Wayne Blank, this course emphasizes responsible gun handling while teaching fundamental marksmanship techniques.

Camp Focus:
NRA’s Rules for Safe Gun Handling – Learn the essential principles of firearm safety.
Rifle Parts & Operation – Understand how firearms work and their key components.
Shooting Fundamentals – Master aiming, trigger control, and stance.
Range Rules & Etiquette – Learn proper behavior and procedures for a safe shooting environment.


Completion of all four classroom sessions is required to qualify for range participation and earn a safety certificate.  Special Notice: Campers will meet at a local firing range on the final day. Transportation is NOT provided by MCCC.  Cost includes use of a rifle, ear/eye protection, and ammunition at the range.  Safety is our top priority—this course provides a structured and educational introduction to responsible firearm handling.  Open to boys and girls grades 5-12.  Enrollment is limited!
